Your child’s class or teaching group has signed up to try the Lue Luppakorvalle tablet and mobile app. This information sheet explains the app and the pilot period for parents.
What is the Lue Luppakorvalle app?
- It is a game-based tablet and mobile app developed by speech and language therapists to improve reading accuracy and fluency in children who have already started learning to read. Children read aloud to a virtual reading dog using any material chosen by a teacher, parent or the children themselves. They earn rewards for reading, which allow them to care for and play with their virtual pet.

What does taking part in the pilot mean?
- Your child’s teacher has been given free access to the app for themselves and their pupils for a pilot lasting around four weeks. During the trial, the teacher may use the app as part of teaching, for example in language and literacy lessons.
- The teacher may also share the download link and installation instructions with families, so that they can install the app on their own device and use it for reading practice or homework. Taking part in testing at home is voluntary.
- At the end of the trial, the teacher will give feedback to the developers. Parents who have tried the app at home are also welcome to provide feedback.
