Tampereen Kuntoutuspaja osk is organising a two-part webinar on children’s self-regulation difficulties in everyday situations. This multidisciplinary training is intended for therapists and early childhood education professionals. The training lasts 6h and takes place via Zoom on Friday 8.11.2024 and 22.11.2024 at 12.30-15.30 (UCT+2). The webinar will be recorded, so you can watch it later if you are unable to attend. The price is 70€ per participant (no VAT is added).

A child’s ability to sit still depends on many factors. Their sensory system needs to be sufficiently developed, they need adequate body control, and their physical and sensory environment must make sitting possible for them. The child also needs to be able to make sense of time, focus on the task they have been given and understand the instructions. These are just some of the elements needed for this skill.

This training combines theory and practice. You will learn:

  • about the development of children’s sensory systems and sensorimotor skills
  • how a child’s difficulties may appear in everyday situations
  • practical approaches that have been tried out in different challenging situations

We love a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation, which is why this training is a collaboration between different professional groups.

The trainers are therapists from Tampereen Kuntoutuspaja osk

  • Mari Halttula-Kalajainen, occupational therapist (training in sensory integration theory and therapy)
  • Eveliina Zegblah, occupational therapist (training in sensory integration theory and therapy)
  • Soile Rautakallio, early childhood special education teacher
  • Heini-Maija Toivonen, occupational therapist
  • Ulla Sergejeff, speech and language therapist, FM
